What We Collect
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand site usage. This service is cookieless and does not track individual users. Data collected includes:
- Page views and referrer URLs
- Browser type and device category (desktop/mobile/tablet)
- Country-level location (derived from IP address, not stored)
Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies, does not track users across sites, and does not store IP addresses. See Cloudflare Web Analytics Privacy for details.
Contact Emails
If you email us at [email protected], we store your email address and message content only to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to mailing lists or share your email with third parties.
What We Do Not Collect
- No cookies (except essential localStorage for cookie banner acknowledgement)
- No third-party tracking scripts (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, etc.)
- No personal data beyond email correspondence
- No advertising identifiers or cross-site tracking
Calculator Data
All calculator inputs (room dimensions, wall areas, etc.) are processed in your browser using JavaScript. No calculator data is sent to our servers or stored anywhere. Your calculations are private.
Third-Party Services
Traditional Trowel is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may log IP addresses and request metadata for security and performance purposes. See Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
We do not use third-party advertising, social media widgets or analytics platforms beyond Cloudflare Web Analytics.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Request deletion of your email correspondence (contact us at [email protected])
- Access any personal data we hold (email correspondence only)
- Object to processing (we will delete your data on request)
Data Retention
- Analytics: Aggregated, anonymised data retained indefinitely by Cloudflare
- Email correspondence: Retained for 2 years, then deleted
Children's Privacy
Traditional Trowel does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Our content is intended for adults planning construction projects.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy as our practices or legal requirements change. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.
